PLUS: Google Gemini Goes Mobile Tips

Hey botified nation!

I wanted to take a brief moment to acknowledge the horrific event that happened in the US a days ago during the Trump campaign rally. At botified, we do not get into politics or take sides, but violence of any kind should be condemned.

That being said, hopefully this weekā€™s newsletter lightens your mind and heart a bit as we help you on your quest to simplify your life using AI.

AI in everyday life

How To Use ChatGPT Appā€™s Voice Mode Feature

In case you missed it, OpenAIā€™s chatbot landed in app stores and is available for download on Apple and Android mobile phones.

But thereā€™s a twist: The ChatGPT app now comes with the voice mode feature, allowing you to convert your spoken ideas into well-written text, summaries, and action items.

Want to boost your creativity? You can brainstorm all you want without typing everything down.

Hereā€™s a step-by-step guide to enabling voice mode in the ChatGPT app:

  1. Go to ChatGPT app settings and allow ā€œBackground Conversations.ā€

  2. Start a new chat with the prompt shown in the photo.

Suggested prompt to enable voice mode in the ChatGPT app.

  3. Click on the headset icon at the bottom left corner and verbalize your thoughts. Speak freely, pause as needed, and say "finished" when you've expressed all your ideas.

  4. Review the AI-generated text, summary, and action items, and save them to your notes to be used later for your projects.

With this feature on, brainstorming will probably never be the same again. You can just ramble about all your ideas for as long as you want and automatically have an organized and detailed summary.

How To Use Google Gemini Chatbot on Mobile Phones

Feel like stepping out of the ChatGPT bubble? Time to try Googleā€™s most advanced AI chatbot, Gemini. Same as ChatGPT, Cluade, and Copilot, Gemini can understand, operate on, and combine other types of information like images, audio, video, and code.

The only difference is that, instead of replacing your search engine, Gemini works to enhance your Google search experience so you can enjoy the best of both worlds: AI automation and accurate search results.

Hereā€™s how to get started with Google Gemini Chatbtot:

Pro tip: Make sure your device is running on the latest OS version to support all the new features Google Gemini AI might require. Updating your apps can help, too.

For iPhone users:

  1. Download the Google app from the Apple App Store and launch the app.

  2. Sign in to your Google Account and you should see a Gemini tab at the top part of your Google app.

  3. Switch to the Gemini tab and agree to give Gemini access to your device's features and settings.

  4. Start chatting with Gemini by typing your prompt via the keyboard. You can also speak your prompt by tapping the Microphone icon or upload photos to get Gemini to analyze it for you.

You should see the Google button below every chatbot response. Clicking this will redirect you to Google search results related to your query.

For Android users:

  1. Download Gemini AI Chatbot from the Google Play Store. Once the installation is complete, launch the app and grant the necessary permissions.

  2. Create a new account or log in if you already have one and start conversing with the chatbot by typing your queries, speaking your prompts, or adding photos.

  3. Assign the Google app as your deviceā€™s default assist app by tapping the profile picture at the top right corner of your Gemini app. Click ā€œSettingsā€ and scroll down to ā€œDigital Assistants from Googleā€ and select ā€œGeminiā€ for digital assistant.

  4. Say ā€œHey Geminiā€ or long-press the home button on your Android phone to activate the chatbot and start chatting with it.

Iā€™ll bet you never thought your smartphone could be any smarter until Google Gemini AI.

TLDR news highlights

AI model can predict Alzheimerā€™s by analyzing speech patterns

The healthcare industry hit another milestone, thanks to AI.

Researchers from Boston University developed an AI model that can predict Alzheimer's with 80% accuracy by analyzing speech patterns.

Although they emphasized that the research dealt with only a small sample and further studies on larger datasets are still needed, these findings offer us a look into a better future with AI technology.

Could this be the start of AI tech-dependent future health management standard procedures?

TikTok now has its own AI Chatbot

Genie is an AI chatbot specially designed by TikTok to improve the user interaction of Western audiences.

Itā€™s programmed to offer real-time assistance and enable interactions with video streams. Imagine watching a TikTok video and having questions about what youā€™re seeing. Genie will allow users to get real-time answers and information without leaving the video stream.

If youā€™re watching tutorials, DIY projects, and educational content on TikTok, this can be extremely helpful for getting quick clarifications and more information.

With Genieā€™s help, users might actually retain information and learn something from what theyā€™re streaming. The question is, will the information given by the chatbot be sourced from search engines like Google or will Genie use its own data library?

New AI Startup Odyssey plans to create better quality renders than Sora et al.

Check out how this AI startup plans to compete with the hottest Text-to-Video Generators today.

Their selling point? ā€œHollywood-gradeā€ visuals.

Compared to Sora, Luma, Runway Gen-3 Alpha, and similar tools that are already making headlines in the AI and videography communities, Odyssey promises to give users full, fine-tuned control over every element in their AI-generated scenes.

This means each rendered product can be refined further until it matches exactly what you envisioned. In my opinion, this has great potential, as all other text-to-video AI tools require starting over and revising your original prompt if the rendered video isnā€™t to your liking.

Considering Odyssey plans to create glitch-free and mind-blowing visuals that meet Hollywood standards, weā€™ll have to wait whether it launches as a free and accessible tool or just another high-priced bulky program dressed as ā€œluxurious.ā€
