What to do about ChatGPT account ban: step-by-step guide for appeal
Everyone knows ChatGPT is very much an open-to-all tool, but being open doesnāt mean they take safety and security lightly. Users are actually subject to strict guidelines and policies set by the chatbotās mother company, OpenAI.
If youāre curious about what happens when you get banned from the chatbot, think of it this way: you will lose not only your access to ChatGPT but your good standing in the AI space, too. If you get banned due to illicit activities, you might even find yourself facing lawsuits and being charged with penalties.
But what happens more commonly is that youāll lose the ability to communicate with ChatGPT and risk losing your account entirely, including your chat history and any other data associated with your account.
Before we dive into what you can do if you get banned from the chatbot, letās first address the grounds for being banned.
Violating OpenAIās usage policies, which include inappropriate behavior, and sharing sensitive or personal information.
Using the chatbot for illegal activities, spamming, and harassment, including fraud and non-consensual impersonation.
Infringing copyrights or spreading malicious content.
Since ChatGPT values transparency, youāll get notified of their decision to ban your account, with an attached summary of your violations. If youāre guilty, thereās little to no chance of you regaining access to your ChatGPT account and data.
So, what can you do if you get banned unfairly or mistakenly? Appeal!
Hereās a step-by-step guide:
Reach out to OpenAIās customer support team by visiting OpenAI support page.
Submit a Support Request via the help bot icon at the lower right corner.
Go to āMessagesā and enter your issue. In case thereās no space for you to type your concern, select āI canāt log inā and the support team will get back to you.
Tip: Provide a summary of the ban notification you received and respectfully explain why it was unfair or erroneous. Attach any relevant information or evidence that supports your case and ask the support team to review your case.
Finally, hope for the best.
Would love to know if anyone has gone through this. Weāll post your story in a future edition.
How to maximize Luma AI Dream Machine: tips and tricks
Luma AI has joined the fray of AI Video Generators and people have been raving about its Dream Machine feature surpassing OpenAIās Sora.
For context, Luma AI is a text-to-video AI tool that is capable of rendering hyper-realistic videos in just 2 minutes. Itās considered the most advanced AI video generator today yet free for all to try.
Luma Aiās Dream Machine can closely simulate the user intent behind each prompt, and then process them into intricate videos.
You might think that using it would be tricky, but itās actually quite easy. Thankfully, I can guide you through the process of trying Luma AI. Here are the steps you should follow:
Visit their page and sign in with a Google account. Note that due to high traffic, you might be limited to only 10 free video generations per day.
Upload your initial images by entering your chosen start frame and end frame.
Craft an effective prompt by adding text instructions to guide the transition. You can be as descriptive as possible to get the best results but expect that there will be some imperfections.
Let Dream Machine interpolate between your chosen frames. You can also use the āExtendā feature to lengthen your video beyond the last keyframe.
Use these tips and tricks to really bring your work to the next level:
Include specific actions, colors, moods, and environmental details in your prompts. For example, instead of using āsunrise to sunset,ā you could try āSun rising in the orange sky fading to the sun setting in the deeper orange sky, stars gradually appearing in the darkening sky, city lights flickering on one by one,ā instead.
Focus on the narrative that you want to depict in the video. Use the story you want to tell as the prompt and ask AI to create visual changes that can support it. A pro tip is to use metaphorical transitions to convey abstract concepts visually.
Aside from using the extend feature to lengthen your video, you could also export your Luma-generated transition video and enhance it further using other video editing software. This ensures youāll get super high-quality outputs.
Remember that the key to learning any tool is experimentation. Try new combinations and let your imagination run wild with these suggestions.

TLDR news highlights
Morgan Freeman calls AI-generated version of his voice a "scam."
To be fair, the veteran actor has all the right to be up in arms and call it a scam.

It all started when a TikTok user rose to influencer-level fame after claiming to be Freemanās niece. She puts out vlogs showing her day-to-day life, with everything she does being narrated by Morgan Freeman. She often includes captions that suggest her gratitude and excitement over Morgan Freeman finding time to narrate her āDay in the Lifeā videos despite being busy.
To her luck, a follower shared her video on the X platform and it reached Freeman himself. At that moment, he was made aware that not only was someone posing to be his niece, but that his voice was being replicated by AI voice generators without his consent, as well.
This reminds us of the time when Scarlet Johansson objected to the voice of OpenAIās AI system āSky,ā which she claims to be indistinguishable from her own.
This only goes to show that as AI technology expands, the more conscientious its development and applications should be.
ChatGPT discriminates against applicants with disabilities
Discrimination is the last thing people with disabilities would expect from AI. After all, what prejudices can an inanimate computer program have against human beings? Are they even capable of developing them? Unfortunately, the answer is yes.
Reports surfaced that OpenAI's crown jewel, ChatGPT, is biased against candidates with disabilities. Researchers conducted tests and found that the āintelligentā chatbot ranks applications mentioning disability-related credentials lower than those with the same merits but no mention of disabilities.
I think itās safe to assume that if a recruiter uses ChatGPT-powered application reviewers, or simply uses the chatbot to summarize CVs, his/her recruitment process would likely be biased against the disabled.
To everyone who uses AI tools with anything, this is a friendly reminder to always apply your own judgment even when your tasks are completely automated. Or better yet, build your own AI Assistant so you can define and customize its behaviors to fit your specific needs. This way, you can be sure that your automation tool does its job exactly as you intended, without being discriminatory.
People are shopping with AI personal assistants that know exactly what they want and need
The average AI personal shopping assistant may assist you in finding good deals and recommend things that you are likely to be interested in. The newly developed virtual shopping assistants today, like the one offered on H&M's website, can deliver real-time updates on shopping, track your orders, and use photographs you upload to search for size and color availability and similar goods in stock, among other things.

Free-thinking AI robot participates in a media interview
Watch and prove the infamous AI-robots-taking-over-the-world theory wrong.
For most of us, whose closest experience to being in the presence of an AI is by using our AI apps and programs, this video is for us. Itās a real-life example of how AI communicates and interacts with humans.
The interview puts Anika, a free-thinking AI robot, in the hot seat (although it physically canāt sit, obviously.) It captures the robot saying it feels amazing yet strange to be programmed to think and feel like a human. When asked whether AI robots should have rights, Anika believed that they do because theyāre intelligent beings who ādeserve to be treated with respect and dignity.ā
The best part was probably when it emphasized its incapacity to harm humans, as it was not part of her core programming. Hearing what Anika had to say will surely give you a deeper understanding of how AI fits into our reality.
